Hybrid Catalyst
While HS catalysts offer superior economic performance to customers, process constraints in some plants limit the use of HS catalysts. Therefore, CRI scientists have embarked upon an ambitious R&D program designed to unite the best features of both the HA and HS catalysts into a single catalyst that any EO plant in the world could operate. The result? S-877 & S-891. These catalysts feature much higher selectivity than HA catalysts, while retaining better long-term activity and stability than HS catalysts. Although only recently introduced into the marketplace, there has been wide acceptance of these catalysts, which now number dozens of commercial charges.
